Overview:
The Visual History Archive (VHA) is a fully streaming multimedia collection of 55,000 primary source testimonies of survivors and witnesses of genocide, including the European Holocaust, and other global conflicts or events, such as Armenia, Nanjing, Rwanda, Guatemala, Cambodia, Central African Republic, and South Sudan.
It is the largest digital collection of its kind, with interviews conducted throughout 62 countries, in 40 languages, among 30 experience groups, and supports many disciplines, such as: Anthropology; Education; Film Studies; Gender Studies; Genocide History; Holocaust Studies / Holocaust Education; Human Rights; International Relations; Judaism; Languages; Law; Literature; Political Science; Psychology; and Religion.
Led by Karen Jungbloth, Farhana Hoque, and Tommy Curry the session will cover recent developments within the VHA, as well as developments for 2020 to support teaching and new research in these disciplines even further, including examples of research based on the VHA to show research process and output. There will be room for questions and discussion.
