Music and migration: tales and tunes from immigrants and refugees, 12/11/20, 6-8pm

As people move, their stories move with them. Music reminds us where we have come from but also connects us to where we are now. Come and hear stories of migration and the music borne out of it.

With: Syrian-Kurdish singer and oud player Adnan Shamdin; Jewish music practitioner and scholar Phil Alexander; Gulwali Passarlay, author of ‘The Lightless Sky;’ reggae, hiphop and afrobeat artist Abdul Yussuff; Chilean singer and poet Valentina Montoya-Martinez.
